Chimp has it right! My buddies dad is a taxidermist and has 15 or so mounts on the walls of our local Sportsman's Warehouse. They all look real but are plastic molds he ordered to paint. He orders a fish that has the "pose" his client wants and the same measurements (length and girth). He matches the color to the picture he is given. I have seen a couple of his early mounts (from 30 years ago),they are the real deal, but you can tell. The colors are very yellowed, and the fish looks a little shrunken. The new plastic mounts are nearly perfect matches to your fish and practically last forever.
